This citrus glaze made with fresh UNS Kumquats is a quick way to add bold, sweet-tart flavor to stir-fried vegetables, tofu, or grilled protein. It’s a delicious fusion of zing and warmth, perfect for elevating weeknight meals.
Ingredients
- 6–8 fresh UNS Kumquats, thinly sliced (remove seeds)
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ¼ tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp water
Method
- Prep the kumquats: Slice kumquats thinly and remove any seeds. Their sweet peel adds flavor and texture, so no need to peel.
- Make the glaze: In a small pan, heat sesame oil. Add sliced kumquats and ginger. Stir for 1 minute. Add soy sauce, honey, vinegar, water, and chili flakes. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Use immediately: Pour over stir-fried veggies, crispy tofu, or grilled chicken. Toss well and serve warm.
