This refreshing juice made with ripe UNS Granadillas is tropical, tangy, and packed with natural flavor. It’s a vibrant and hydrating drink, perfect for cooling down on a warm day—enjoy it freshly strained or with the seeds for an added crunch.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe UNS Granadillas, halved and pulp scooped out
- 1½ cups cold water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (or lime juice)
- 1–2 tablespoons sugar, honey, or agave syrup (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes, to serve
- 1 Mint sprig or lime wedge, for garnish (optional)
Method
- Extract the pulp Scoop the pulp (including seeds) from the granadillas into a bowl.
- Blend gently (optional) For a smoother consistency, pulse the pulp with a few tablespoons of water in a blender for 3–5 seconds—just enough to loosen the juice from the seeds without crushing them. Do not over-blend.
- Strain the juice Pour the mixture through a fine strainer or sieve into a pitcher. Use a spoon to gently press and extract as much juice as possible. If you like the texture, you can skip straining and enjoy the seeds.
- Mix and chill Add the lemon juice, water, and sweetener to the strained juice. Stir well to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
- Serve Pour into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with mint or lime wedge if desired. Serve immediately.
