A creative twist on traditional sushi, these UNS Green Shisho Leaves add an aromatic, herbaceous depth to the rolls. Green shisho has a unique flavor, similar to a mix of mint, basil, and anise, making it a fantastic addition to sushi or wraps.
Ingredients
- 2 cups sushi rice, cooked and seasoned with rice vinegar
- 1/2 avocado, sliced for creaminess
- 1/2 cucumber, julienned for crunch
- 6 UNS Green Shisho Leaves for wrapping
- 1 tbsp soy sauce for dipping
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
Method
- Lay a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat and spread a thin layer of sushi rice.
- Arrange avocado slices and cucumber along the bottom edge of the rice.
- Roll the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat and slice it into bite-sized pieces.
- Wrap each sushi piece in a UNS Green Shisho Leaf, pressing gently so it sticks.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and serve with soy sauce.
